Agreement and eligibility
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of civicmemory.ai and its illustrative demo (the “Site”), operated by PTW Consulting LLC (“Civic Memory,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, do not use the Site. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to accept these Terms. If you use the Site for an organization, you represent that you have authority to act for it.
What Civic Memory provides
Civic Memory builds applied-AI tools that help people research public decisions, code, permitting precedent, and other city knowledge. The public demo is a simulated experience: it does not query live city systems, analyze the address shown, or return an actual government result.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site, and we may correct or update content without notice. A separate pilot or customer deployment may be governed by additional terms.
Not an official determination
Civic Memory is not a government agency and this Site is not an official city website. Site content, citations, demos, summaries, and AI-assisted outputs are informational and may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. They are not permits, approvals, legal opinions, professional advice, or binding interpretations of law or policy.
Always review the linked primary source and confirm important questions with the responsible government office or a qualified professional. Past decisions do not guarantee a future result. You remain responsible for decisions made using Site information.
Acceptable use
You may use the Site for lawful informational and evaluation purposes. You may not:
- Interfere with, overload, probe, or attempt unauthorized access to the Site or its systems.
- Use automated means to scrape the Site at a rate that degrades service or evades controls.
- Misrepresent Site output as an official government determination or as human professional advice.
- Use the Site to violate law, infringe rights, distribute malware, or facilitate fraud.
- Remove proprietary notices or reverse engineer non-public portions of the service except where law permits.
Intellectual property
The Site’s software, design, branding, original text, and compilation are owned by PTW Consulting LLC or its licensors and protected by law. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Site for its intended purpose.
Public records and third-party materials remain subject to their own ownership and legal status. Nothing in these Terms claims ownership of public records merely because Civic Memory links to, organizes, or summarizes them.
Third-party sources and links
The Site may link to government portals and other third-party sources. Links are provided for context and do not imply endorsement, control, or a guarantee that a source is available, official, complete, or current. Third-party sites have their own terms and privacy practices.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or suitable for any specific project.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PTW Consulting LLC and its members, employees, contractors, and suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, opportunities, or goodwill, arising from the Site or reliance on its content.
Our total liability for claims arising from the Site will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us specifically for use of the Site during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.
General terms
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about the public Site. If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a reorganization, financing, merger, or sale.
These Terms are governed by Florida law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Courts in Miami-Dade County, Florida will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where applicable law gives you a non-waivable right to bring a claim elsewhere.
We may revise these Terms by posting an updated version and changing the date above. Questions may be sent to pwild@ptwconsultingllc.com.
